Landio Strategy: Interest Economy & Snowballing

Landio's economy has one core rule: troops grow with interest, land sets the interest base, and every tile has a troop cap. Master that rule and you master the game — this guide breaks it into three phases.
1. Early game (0–2 min): ride the interest window
- 7% base interest at the start, decaying over time. The first two minutes are the richest interest window of the match.
- Spawn for safety, not greed: spawn inland with room to breathe. Spawning next to an opponent is the fastest way to get eaten.
- Expand into unclaimed tiles first: neutral expansion only pays the terrain cost — no defender density tax. It's the best return on troops.
- Route around mountains: mountain tiles cost 1.5× to advance through. Spend your early budget on plains.
One sentence: every minute of the early game compounds. Same troops on faster land = a cliff-edge difference in income.
2. Mid game: convert troops into land
- Global cap landCount × 150: every tile can hold only so many troops. Hoarding hits the cap and interest drops to zero.
- Peak density & decay: close to the per-tile cap the interest multiplier shrinks; at the cap it's zero. A red "0.00%" growth reading is the game telling you to attack.
- Hit density gaps: attacking an enemy tile costs terrain base + 2× defender density, while the defender bleeds 1× density. Push where the border is thin.
- Don't always fullsend: keep 1–2% in reserve so a single wave never leaves you defenseless.
The tempo rule of thumb: the moment your growth reading starts dropping, it's time to cash troops into land.
3. Late game: hold the front, flank with fleets
- Stalemates are normal: late-game density makes frontal pushes expensive. Hold the line and look for leverage elsewhere.
- Sail along the coast: once you reach the sea, clicking a target across water converts an attack into a fleet — bypass the entire land front and hit islands or their backline.
- Fleet tax 3.125%: a one-time cost that buys a second front — the defender now fights on two fronts and the stalemate breaks.
- Support timing in teams: troop support costs 6.25% and only 1/16 arrives at the start of a match — the later you send, the more arrives. Don't empty your bank early.
Common mistakes
- Attacking everything you see: charging into high-density enemies trades your troops into their score.
- Fullsend every wave: taxes are flat-rate; getting wiped out costs far more than the tax.
- Playing 1v1 like a battle royale: with no third parties, duels are won by economy and position — slow nibbling beats all-in rushes.
